Job Description:

Save-On-Foods is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team in Duncan, BC. This is a full-time position with a focus on leading a team, supporting store operations, and driving business growth. Job Responsibility:

  • Leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to the store’s management team and team members; fostering a positive team environment that is focused on Always Customer First service.
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager with overall store operations standards (e.g., merchandising, customer service, cleanliness, food safety, receiving, shrink, scheduling, ordering, health and safety).
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager with team member relations (e.g., recruitment, training, conflict resolution, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders).
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager in reviewing and analyzing Income Statements and support the store’s management team to identify opportunities to grow profit; accountable to develop and execute action plans.
  • Supporting the communication of key messages to the store’s management team and/or team members to inspire alignment with key business objectives.
  • Using business/HR metrics and dashboards to monitor the performance of the department(s).
  • Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.
  • Supporting the Assistant Store Manager in holding the store team accountable for accurate stocktaking.
  • Performing all job duties throughout the store as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs.), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.


Educational Requirements:

Post-Secondary education with a business focus (considered an asset).


Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a customer service environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving store sales targets and profitability, human resources, labour relations, store financial planning and budgeting, merchandising plans, inventory control and shrink management, scheduling, health and safety, and food safety.
