Job Description:

Director, Product Management position at Loblaw Companies Limited. Responsible for developing and driving business strategies for Control Brands within assigned product categories. Focus on maintaining the base portfolio while introducing innovative products. Opportunity to coach and develop colleagues. Full-time position.


Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of existing category portfolio
  • Oversee project management and ensure strategies are executed
  • Drive exposure and understanding of the market place through retail visits
  • Manage marketing partnerships and ensure products under development are considered for Insiders
  • Focus on colleague development through coaching and IDP focus


Experience Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of related experience, preferably in a corporate food or packaged goods environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High degree of self-discipline and organization skills
  • Superior interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to think laterally and introduce innovative products
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiation
  • Sound business acumen


Main Duties:

  • Develop and drive business strategies for Control Brands within assigned product categories
  • Maintain a framework for product managers to effectively maintain the base portfolio
  • Assess current Control Brand performance and forecast sales
  • Proactively manage numerous overlapping projects and deadlines
  • Persuade stakeholders to accept business recommendations
  • Introduce innovative products to the marketplace
  • Manage vendor capabilities and negotiate contracts
