Job Description:

The RE FP&A Manager will be the leader of a dynamic team that manages strategic outlook, annual budget, quarterly forecast, month end reporting for RE OPEX, CAPEX and banner level allocations. The Manager will also provide actionable, analytical support and business insight to the CIO organization by helping key stakeholders understand the financial impacts, risks, and benefits of potential financial decisions/initiatives.


Job Responsibility:

  • Manage, develop and inspire a team of 3-4 Financial Analysts.
  • Manage the preparation of annual budget, monthly, and quarterly forecasts and the maintenance and build of appropriate models to assist with analysis and reporting.
  • Monitor results versus budget/forecast and provide thorough analysis and investigation into the variances while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Accountable for developing, maintaining, and evolving new and existing financial models focused RE costing, capital planning and impacts to sustainment RE spend.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on cost-benefit analysis process improvements, post-implementation reviews and validation of benefits resulting from transformation initiatives.
  • Work with RE on multi-year capital planning and educate on long-term impacts of capital investments.
  • Provide input into RE spend benchmarking activities and advocate with cross-functional teams.
  • Spearhead process improvements for FP&A through automation, standardization and reliance on data analytics to uncover trends and meaningful performance insights.
  • Ad hoc analysis as required.


Educational Requirements:

University degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.


Experience Requirements:

  • 5-7 years work experience in a tech/analytical field with solid understanding of IFRS, project accounting, cost capitalization and cost management.
  • Results oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, maintaining attention to detail while retaining focus on the “big picture”.
  • Experience managing a team and driving outcomes through enabling others.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment while being a self-starter in driving process change within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization in a professional and competent manner.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically with Excel and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of PowerBI and/or SQL is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and Hyperion products is considered an asset
